A lot of these covers are refreshing to see – a change from Stanley Kubrick’s movie poster (but then, the film is so different from the book, and makes Humbert a much more straight-forward character).
Jamie Keenan‘s is my favourite of the lot:
The corner of the room, and also the shape of an open book. We can glimpse the innocence of the girl and the disturbing nature of the events behind the unreliable narrator and the humour littered throughout the book.
Unreliable narrators (The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Pale Fire): never forget.
